CBSNews and the Media's Racial Double Standard

"CBS This Morning" anchor Gayle King grew emotional on air Tuesday morning while reporting on two allegedly racist incidents involving black men.   One was of  a white woman falsely accusing a black man of threatening her in New York City, which the man recorded on his cellphone in a video that has gone viral. The other report was of a black suspect being held down by an officer. The officer was using his knee to press down on the man’s neck. Ultimately the man was unable to breathe and died.

The CBS journalist stated:

“She’s practically strangling her dog to make these false accusations against another black man,”
“"I’m still so upset by that last story where the man is handcuffed underneath a car, where people are pleading … and we’re watching a man die. We go from that story now to this story where she falsely accuses a black man. I don’t even know what to do or how to handle this at this particular time"
"I am speechless. I am really, really speechless about what we're seeing on television this morning. It feels to me like an open season ... and that sometimes it's not a safe place to be in this country for black men."
Where was King's big mouth when an 80 year old couple was shot and killed by a black man in Delaware? They were a threat to no one.  Where was king's huge mouth when  Tyler Wingate was murdered by a black man. Imagine if the rolls were reversed.  Where was King's mouth when Officer Paul Bauer was gunned down by black man, Shomari Legghette. Nothing but crickets from her.  Where was her big mouth when a black man, Debrece Shields, was murdered by another black man David Walls?

Ms King only opens her mouth when she can promote double standard and stereotypes. People's lives are valuable to her only when their skin is a certain tone and only if their murder's skin is a certain pigmentation. Gayle King represents  the hypocrisy and racial double standard  that exist within the mainstream media today.

Promoting hate is a central part of the media's culture.
